Custom Antique Leather Bound Books

Our Antique Custom Binding is designed for those who love the timeless charm of vintage books. Unlike our Classic Custom Binding, which offers a crisp, new leather rebind with a traditional look, this edition is carefully crafted to appear aged and well-loved. The leather is treated to replicate a natural patina, giving the book a rich, worn-in character reminiscent of antique volumes. This style is particularly suited to classic literature and fantasy books, though it beautifully complements many other genres as well

Step One: Choose Your Book

Select the book(s) you’d like to have rebound. You can either send us your own copy or let us source the book for you. While we can rebind paperback books, we highly recommend a hardback edition with a rounded spine, such as those from the Folio Society, for the best results. Barnes and Noble Collector Editions and Canterbury Classics are great value versions for the classics.

Step Two: Select Your Leather

Choose your desired leather colour. We can create the antique look in medium brown, tan or mahogany.

Step Three: Choose Your Label Colour(s)

Similar to Step Two, select a label colour. Black and Mahogany are usually the best for labels.

Step Four: Page Edge Decoration

Some books such as Canterbury Classics have gold or silver edge gilding. However, if your book doesn't have this you can choose to let us decorate it for you. Options include speckled or painted edges to accentuate your book’s beauty and help protect the pages from dust and sunlight. Speckled and painted edges cost an extra £25.

Step Five: Personalisation

Finally, if you would like a personalised message or name on the first page as you open the book, we can add this for you - £5

Step Six: Marbled Paper

The marbled paper we use is handmade and very unique. The designs we have in stock change regularly. We will send photos of the papers we have available, where you can choose which you would like for your book(s).

Once we gather all your preferences, we'll select headbands, endpapers, and ribbon to complement your chosen colours, and we’ll confirm the final design with you.

Pricing Information -

Please note that the price shown in this listing represents the minimum cost, assuming you provide the book for rebinding and select from the options mentioned above (excluding page edge decoration and personalisation). Should you require us to source the book or choose page edge decoration, the price will be adjusted accordingly, and we will provide you with an updated quote for your approval. If you would like a set of books rebinding, a slightly reduced price can be arranged.
